AmeriCorps*VISTA
From 2009-2010, an AmeriCorps*VISTA served at Fresh From The Vines, as a part of the Children and Youth of Northwest Pennsylvania AmeriCorps Project. Our VISTA, worked on a farm education initiative and managed projects with our strong volunteer force. With other farm staff and volunteers, she worked on getting the Fresh From The Vines Education Center up and running. Classes through the Center will take place within the Meadville community and at the farm. Workshops and classes focus on nutrition, growing healthful food, food preservation, and food preparation.

Interns
Students from Allegheny College intern at Fresh From The Vines. Past internship projects have benefitted the farm in a number of ways. In addition, interns gain a broader understanding of the many aspects of farm life during their internship experience as they assist with planting, harvesting, animal care, nutrition education, bakery practices, food preservation, and much more.

Volunteers At Fresh From The Vines, the volunteers make a world of difference. We are fortunate to have several die-hards, who log hours every week. In addition, a substantial number of community partners, including Allegheny College, bring volunteers regularly as well. Volunteers do a little bit of everything around the farm. They assist with yard and structure maintenance, vegetable planting and harvest, bakery work, and educational pursuits.
