We believe education plays an important role in the sustainability of our farm. As people gain interest in their food and its connection to farmers and the land, they are empowered to make the right decisions for themselves and the environment. We provide a number of opportunities for you to expand your knowledge of sustainable living and farming.
If you or a group are interested in learning more about the foods you eat and would like Fresh From The Vines to speak at a meeting or participate in an event, please e-mail education@freshfromthevines.com or call 814-763-4606.

| We invite you to join us in a number of educational capacities, both on site and off. In order to understand how our farm works, a visit is ideal. At the farm, we give tours and offer hands-on lessons in our garden, fields, tunnels, and bakery. Another great way to learn about sustainable farm life is to volunteer at the farm. We are grateful to the numerous, hard-working people who make up our corps of volunteers. We understand that transportation is sometimes an issue for larger groups. As a community partner, we offer educational opportunities upon request through other organizations in town. If you are interested in learning more about the courses we currently offer, click here.
Walking Tours
We invite groups to our farm to experience it directly. Walking tours are guided by a knowledgeable member of our farm team. Contact us to schedule your group’s tour. The fee is $15 per hour spent at the farm, and $2 per person for light refreshments to be served after the tour. We ask that you wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. For more information, click here.
Volunteer
Another way to get involved is to volunteer for a day’s work on the farm. Currently, several groups of students from Allegheny College make regular visits to the farm to help with planting, cultivation, and harvest. This is a great way to gain knowledge and experience, along with a feeling of accomplishment. Please email education@freshfromthevines.com for more information about volunteer opportunities.
Off-Farm Initiative
We welcome the opportunity to reach the public in an off-farm setting. We are available to speak about our farm and sustainability. We have the capacity to set up a display and answer questions as people look at photos and information about our farm. The compensation rate for off-site presentations is $20/hour plus mileage reimbursement.
